The Domes of Sonora (night photo with light painting, Arizona)

The Domes of Sonora
~~~~~
This is a night photo with light painting on a cold winter evening in the Arizona desert. These structures that look like concrete caterpillars were built for the manufacture of computers but never completed. Now, some speak of ritualistic witchcraft and Satanic worship. Regardless, domes at Casa Grande were torn down in January 2023. I illuminated the interior and exterior with a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 during this long exposure image. This was part of a three-night trip with night photographer Mike Cooper, exploring the remote corners of the desert. NOTE: These domes were razed in January 2023.
With that graffiti in the entrance and inside, I can kind of see how some might relate these places to witchcraft and Satanic worship. If they saw your image wit the red light emitting through the door they would be convinced. This is a nicely illuminated scene, eerie but good. Thanks for capturing and sharing this image before it was gone.
My pleasure. I am sure if they saw that red light emanating from within, they would think, "Hmmmm....let's go get a hamburger instead. Time to go."
