Early K20D Examples
Posted By: Sailor, 12-29-2008, 05:54 PM

Here are a few shots primarily taken this afternoon with my new K20D and DA 21, 40, and 70 at the local college - not in session, of course. The last one is of my daughter (visiting from Columbus where's she's a grad student at Ohio State), who now has my very low-mileage DS2, a new DA 18-55, a virtually unused F80-200 and two new bags for different purposes - a flexible but low-cost "system" that will allow her to test the waters without a significant investment (or commitment to a brand).

I'm enjoying the K20D - a bigger change from my K10D than I expected. The first picture of a jar was taken at ISO 1600 and massaged with Noise Ninja - while perhaps not the optimum, it "cleaned up" far easier than 1600 files from my K10D (which - for me - were never really usable).

Happy New Year everyone.

Jer

The step from a K10D and K20D is surprisingly tall, isn't it? It doesn't especially seem like a big jump on paper. But, it truly is.

Great first shots! Enjoy the new camera!

Congratulations on your new k20d. I know you will enjoy it more as you use it. I bet your daughter is quite happy with her set up. My oldest son is like a hound sniffing for scraps when I get a new camera.

Thanks all, and the K20D is indeed a bit of surprise. Since circumstances allowed me to get it for a song - I'm delighted with it. Looking at the campus shots again this morning, however, makes me think I need to tone down the PP a bit - at least for posting. Part of learning a new camera (and - unfortunately - not my strong suit).
