Landscape Ice cover over the Saint Lawrence. K3 III + DFA* 70-200 mm f/2.8, f/11 and 150 mm FL

The long view towards Deschambault over the newly formed ice cover on the Saint Lawrence River. The DFA* 70-200 mm f/2.8 performed remarkably @ 150 mm FL, despite the fact I was handholding this super-heavy zoom lens in "almost hurricane", terrible wind conditions. Notice the near total absence of color, so cold was the temperature on that day (minus 54 deg with the windchill factor).

Excellent shot, Richard. This shot actually has nice blue tints mixed with the very cold grays. Great detail.

Indeed, winter is a season with no heat, no odor and no color ! No wonder Canadians live to a ripe old age. We miss half our lives waiting for summer to come ...
