My all time favorite tree.
Posted By: vievetrick, 12-29-2008, 08:20 PM

I love this tree. Always have and always will. It is in Ellington Ct. on the way to visit family in Rockville. It is in a field just off the road. I tweeked the WB and levels a bit. I never get a chance to stop and shoot it. This week Christmas actually my wife indugled me for a few minutes. I hope to get a shot when it is covered in snow someday. comments welcomed.

Yep, that is a great tree!

I can image the potential of images done in the fading light of an evening, or with some ominous looking clouds, or as you suggested with a full load of snow on the branches.

Thanks for sharing,

Ray

That is, indeed, a beautiful and also an interesting tree.
What kind is it?

I always thought I was the only wacko who felt affection for a tree.

At this very moment we are in the midst of a violent wind storm with gusts to over 100 kmh. The city could very well loose some of its venerable old trees.

Thanks everyone. I am actually not sure what type of tree it is. I will have to do some checking or maybe someone here will know. I hope to add some to more as the year goes on. I will keep you all posted.

Add me to the 'wacko' list. I see a tree similar to this in the middle of a farm field along the highway home. I've been intending to do some shooting there someday. This one of yours is great as well. I'm thinking of marking a shooting spot and doing a 'seasons' series with the one I like and seeing how 4 shots over a year look.

Great spot Pat. You'll have to come back a few more times.

Hey, you have to go for it. I like your shot and I love trees! Not positive, but it looks like a birch or aspen. Magnificent specimen you have captured.

Pat that is a majestic tree indeed. I have several favorite trees and oftern view a road trip quite differently since I have become 'obsessed' (always on the lookout for the next great tree

You need to get that puppy in all 4 seasons for sure .... would like great in BW as well I'd bet.
