This lady showed up at the feeder just before the snow started.

When we first moved to this location, we had Pileated Woodpeckers frequently visit. That was 25 years ago. Since then there have been so many homes built in the area that we hardly ever see one. Very nice captures of the elusive bird. Nice rich colors and good detail.

That is a huge woodpecker!
Looking at it so close-up, and in such detail, I have to wonder if it has any idea of how "radical" it looks!
