Goffs CA - Historic Route 66 (night photo with light painting)
Shutter Speed: Above 6s
Posted By: Ken Lee, 03-04-2023, 10:40 AM

Home and Travel Along the Mother Road
~~~~~
A vintage 1921 Buick Coupe and an old 1927 house originally built as the residence for the Superintendent of Maintenance along Route 66. Located on historic Route 66 at the Mojave Desert Heritage and Cultural Association in Goffs, CA. I illuminated the scene with a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 light while the camera's shutter was open during this long exposure night photo.This was on a trip with night photographer Tony Donofrio and George the monkey for a short November trip.
(Plate 8514) Nikon D750/Rokinon 12mm f/2.8 fisheye lens.
We are going to have some night photography workshops and retreats in Goffs in the future. I'm super excited for that because it's such a great place to be.
Ken, it's great that some of this history is preserved. Your imagery really gives us a feel of the scene. Great lighting and excellent capture.
Greatly appreciated. I do love the history behind the photos, and definitely cover a lot of that history in my books of night photography as well. Thanks.
Nicely done...also thanks for providing the historical background....which adds to the photo experience in my opinion.
1921 Buick.
Buicks are solid cars....they never die...don't even fade away...going by your pix.
Thanks. I do love the history behind it. Augments the image, I think. Or the other way around.
