From previous comments in the forum, I would guess this is the Great Egret. Excellent captures, Jer. This elegant bird stands out brightly in the dark blue water. Very fine detail in these images.

You can try poetry, but I doubt it would work out for you as well as your photography.
Great bird shots you have here.
The egrets look so elegant here in all three shots, and your shots of them really enhance their elegance.

This one was a little further away from me than these cropped photos suggest. Even so, I've found that egrets, herons and - especially - ibises will often tolerate a human pretty close by.
