Black point Wildlife Drive
Lens: DA 18-250mm Pentax lens Camera: Pentax K5lls & K3 Photo Location: Merritt Island Florida ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/320s Aperture: F8

A set of photos at Black Point of migrating birds to this area. A 7 mile raised dirt road makes for great viewing. The Coots was the largest flock of birds that I saw when I visited the area.

Not lacking any wildlife there. An excellent series of shots.

Thanks for viewing them. A lack of rain made the wetlands very dry. From my past visits there seemed to be a lot more types there.

Wow, terrific! For a minute you had me confused...we have a Black Point here, too, down in Homestead, near Biscayne National Park.

Dry season is the best time for viewing a lot of Everglades wildlife... the birds and animals congregate near the permanent water features. During wet season, they disperse.

Thanks for your comments and information. Changing the subject. I was at EFG Orchids recently and asked about the yellow Orchid you were wondering about. They said it was called Heather gold Cattleya.

You're welcome.

Well, Rlc. Heather's Gold is a hybrid registered by Hausermann's Orchids, and EFG has connections to Hausermann, so that makes sense. Thanks. Not, after all, Rlc. Malworth as I guessed, but similar breeding. Thank you!
