At the end of day, the light starts to turn reddish. These rock formations in Grand Canyon Nat'l Park show this red tinge. Pentax K1 + DFA 28-105 mm HD @ f/11 and 40 mm FL.

The red tinge on the rocks makes them all the more attractive. Great light and colors.

End of day magic light ! The light in itself is the star of the show.

Very nice shot Richard. I really like the colorful layer bands in the illuminated rock.

That is an excellent capture of that place!
And, for me, it somehow reminds me of the film look that I got years ago from around that same place.
Very attractive image.

The simple beauty of this image attracted my attention. Layers of sandstone, witnesses to the presence of an ancient inland sea, warm light and a glimpse of the depth of the Canyon, what a gift from Nature.

When you stand near the Grand Canyon, you contemplate the "passage of time" ... Some sources put it at "one billion years young". The erosion process keeps modifying the landscape every day.

You're welcome. The Grand Canyon is on my bucket list, to be sure. Closest I've been to it is upstream, Hoover Dam (which is quite sight in its own right, but nothing compared to the Canyon)

Lake Mead is barely a shadow of itself these years. I first visited it in 1998 when Hoover Dam was nearly full. Maybe the abundant snowfalls this winter will help replenish this man-made reservoir.

I do hope so. I was there in the late '80s and it was more or less full then.
