Squeezing In
Lens: DFA 100mm f2.8 macro Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Front Yard ISO: 1000 Shutter Speed: 1/1000s Aperture: F7.1

This was the biggest bumblebee I have ever seen, and when she landed on the blooms, the entire stalk just bent over.

Man, I need a bigger flower.😊 Good macro, Todd. The bumblebee should pick on flowers more its own size.

Great pic, Todd. Nice and sharp. As I am not familiar with that plant, I have no reference for understanding how big this bumble-bee is?

Thanks Mike! It is interesting that the smaller bees are not attracted to this plant.

Thank you Peter! It is a variety of salvia that I don't know the name of. The blooms are a couple of inches from the stalk to the tip, so the bee had to be over an inch long, but it was about that big around as well.

That bee's eye alone is almost more than those blooms can hold!
