An unusual catch. Interesting how it doesn't bother the Robin if a deer approaches. It would be long for if it was me. Nice capture of the buddies, side by side.

Like a scene from some animal fantasy movie! Great catch! That deer is looking right at you!

This experience reminds me of game trail camera work I have seen . Predicting behavior is not an exact science . Your generous compliments are motivating .

Mike , I have to admit that more photos would reinforce my narrative but using too much this forums resources is not worthwhile . Thanks for your reactions .

This was a happy accident rather than a matter of reaction . The deer was literally following me while I was moving slowly looking upward into the trees searching for little guys like chickadees , downy wood peckers , brown creepers , golden crowned kinglets . The robin wasn't noticed at all until editing !
Jer, if it weren't for dumb luck my photos would be dull .
