Feeling gull-ible

Last outing with my A400 5.6 using cif, before the focus ring fell apart internally and started slipping. Ugh.

I love your photo. The 1/4000 of a second shutter speed helps make the photo special, and helps the detail pop. That little bit of a lunch might get the bird by for an hour.

Terrific capture with good timing. Sorry to hear about your lens issue.

Great capture of that gull grabbing a snack. I've never shot an image at 1/4000 of a second. Perhaps I should give that a try with the gulls on the river. Sorry to hear of the lens issue. I use a lot of older lens and hope they don't have issues.

Yes bummer. Cost to fix is equivalent to buying another. Picked up a tamron 65b 400 anyway. Anxious to try it, but it's getting a cla right now.

Thanks Mike. Had the camera on Ap mode and that's what it fired at.

A very dynamic shot!
Excellent!
Too bad about the lens! My DA300 stopped auto-focusing the other day--and it won't manually focus unless I remember both the lens and the camera are switched to manual.
Very disappointing for us when that happens, isn't it?

Yes my da300 acted up also. Stopped focusing, then it wouldn't focus manually, eventually after messing around it would work again, then fine for a week or so, then suddenly quit again, then work fine. Had it converted to screwdrive and it functions great thus far.
