Post your New Years pictures!
Posted By: ftpaddict, 12-31-2008, 04:48 PM

Good or bad, I know most of you took pictures for New Year's.

Post them here for all to see!

I'll get the ball rolling with some badly exposed, badly framed and quite honestly mediocre shots. But that's what you get for not packing a tripod.

Who's next?

I think those a great especially considering you didn't have a tripod. I was far enough away from the crowd, but too far away for good pics. The bursts only filled about 1/5 of the frame so these are quite heavily cropped. My very first fireworks pics The action was all over in about 5/10 mins and only got about 16 shots. Tripod used with remote shutter release, bulb mode, f9.5 , K200d and sigma 17-70.

I didn't process mine either. Just deleted the blurry/OOF pictures.

@leanneqld - now those are some proper fireworks shots. Excellent overall. I need to learn to do more shots like yours.

Fireworks

Thanks ftpaddict. I had no idea how to take fireworks pics so did some internet reseach. I truely needed the help..hehe When I first saw them on the monitor I was quite disappointed but I think once they were cropped they looked much better. I'm sure someone will post some spectacular shots like how I imagined mine were actually going to be like. Can't wait to see what's coming.

Well, packed in a narrow Dutch street, whith no Zenith view whatsoever, I shot mostly ground-works. The major problem with that is the smoke development in only a few seconds, preventing you to shoot those clear images like leanneqld did .

Shot with a handheld K20D and the Takumar-A 28-80 lens. The last one is just a mis-capture: handheld with a shutter speed of 8'' is impossible....
