That's an interesting composition. You get two different views in one image. Beautiful vibrant colors and excellent detail, Tony. I'd like to see those flowers in person.

How Mike put it is a very apt statement to which I fully agree!
I don't know what convention you are "violating", but those blooms really make their own statment.

The convention is: Never have more than one flower in a photo. Typically it is very difficult to get them both in proper focus. Fortunately, I had these two ladies dead center

in the Focal Plane so it worked out quite well. I left the one in the background thinking it offered really good perspective. Hope I was right. Thanks very much for your
