Yes, I have heard that there are quite a few.
Originally posted by MikeNArk I wouldn't be able to tell if it's the genuine article but it looks great. The coupes had sliding side glass. I remember when they had a sticker price of around $7000. It would have been a great investment. Nice shot of the car, Todd.
It is a great looking car. I think Jer's comment kind of cinches it. It is highly unlikely a genuine one showed up at the show.
Originally posted by Sailor Some of the Cobra replicas are very cool cars in their own right; I've seen a couple I would have taken home were it not for (WOW*). I've seen only two genuine, 427 Cobras in my life: a new one at a St. Louis Ford dealer back in '65 or '66, and a beautifully restored (or perfectly preserved) '65 at a concours in Palo Alto in 2011. Not too long ago, one of the automotive websites I follow mentioned that a '65 427 Cobra brought 7.5 million bucks at a recent Mecum auction .

I think you cinched it. It must be a replica. I didn't realize how much they go for nowadays. I will have to remember the WOW terminology.
