This was shot a few years ago, early in the spring nesting season. This photo was taken from about 15-20 ft. away. I've had a lot of luck with this lens. It's great for moon shots, too.

That is a really well focused shot with very good detail. Nice lighting, colors and a smooth background

PS I like the subtle, and apt, use of the Credence reference!

Terrific capture. The bird gave you a nice pose and the sunlight caught its face just right.

I had my camera on a tripod, inside my sliding patio door, with only the lens sticking out from the blinds. I had a bird feeder with some tree limbs attached, so there was always plenty of birds around, and they were used to the lens being there. I would put the camera on live view and wait till they gave me a good pose, then "click." So.... yeah.... no problem with getting them to "be still."
