New from 2023 : Neuville Ancestral House. K3 III + HD DA 16-85 mm ED @ f/11
Lens: HD DA 16-85 mm ED Camera: Pentax K3 III Photo Location: Quebec, CANADA ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/80s Aperture: F11

Spring has arrived and I got my camera out of the mothballs ... I drove slowly through Neuville, one of the oldest French settlements west of Quebec City, where my Ancestors first emigrated from France.

I noticed this large ancestral home, built with wood and stone. It has been restored and seems well maintained by the present owner. These houses may cost up to 1 million dollars.

Pentax K3 III + HD DA 16-85 mm ED @ f/11 and 38,75 mm FL.

Great image - I like the electric blue sky reflected in the upper windows. Thanks for sharing. My wife and I both have some French Canadian ancestry going back about 400 years or so. Maybe you're a (very) distant cousin of ours!

They say that French descendants are all related "6 degrees away" (meaning that everyone had some kind of kinship 6 generations ago). So, THX cousin !!

This is a great image that shows off some of the fine French-Canadian craftsmanship from the past.

Thank you !

Indeed, our Ancestors were quite inventive and showed a terrific "will to survive" that lasts to this very day.

Regards
