Birds in the Rain Forest
Lens: Pentax DA 55-300 PLM WR Camera: Pentas K 3 Photo Location: Costa Rica rain forest ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: 1/320s Aperture: F8

The first three are a female Great Curassow and the two other are a Crested Guan.They are very rare and only found in remote areas.I was lucky to be able to get these pictures.

Good series of photos, rhanz. The Great Curassow Is nice looking large bird. Had to look it up. In one post it was called a Tropical Turkey. Thanks for sharing.

The information I got about them is that they were hunted a lot because they make a tasty meal. Now they are very scarce.

Very nice series! My daughter spent a couple of weeks in Costa Rica on an academic trip some years ago. She was fascinated by the wildlife.

Your images make them very present!
I'll probably never get to see one of either kind, so the pictures make for interest.
