Red-winged Blackbird at Tres Rios Wetlands
Lens: Pentax D FA 150-450mm Camera: K-3 III Photo Location: Phoenix, AZ

Someone told me they opened up some of the area to hiking, so I took the short drive this morning. They were wrong. Most of it is still closed, but I found some of these guys along the main trail that was open. Next weekend it's back up into the woods at Black Canyon Lake.

Those are vibrant reds captured in the shots. I like them all, but the first one takes the cake. The wing position makes it look like a different creature. Well done!

These have been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. Common on fence rows and at fishing ponds in Ohio. Its call is one of the very few I would recognize. Great captures. Thanks so much for posting these.

Great and fantastic images.
That top one--as was said--is really a great one!

Thank you Mike. It started out a nonproductive hike and then I found these.

Thank you. I've been trying to get some decent ones of these for quite a while.
