Planetary Alignment

I got a used Vititar Komine 28mm 2.0 on fleabay and put it through it's paces New Years Eve and captured this:

Last Month I snagged this shot with my Meade telescopic 1000mm w/2x multiplier:

Despite the movement, I think your first shot works. And with the church foreground and night sky in the background, it has a special quality indeed. The moon shot is good and the last is not bad. Just keep on experimenting, it's only digital (film) we used to say!

I agree #1 the church and sky are very good . Keep on shooting and posting.

I really like the composition of the first one quite a bit. I wonder if a light touch of HDR processing would tone down the blossoming of the Moon and Planet?

The only problem i find with the first shot is the heavy-handed noise reduction. Its a great compoisition though
