Chris Bangle founder of Big Bench Community Project (BBCP) born American (Ravenna OHIO) it is a famous car designer, resident in Italy since many years. The purpose of these benches located in pleasant places it's for people who practice trekking to discover new landscapes off the known paths, the big benches also have a meaning for the dream of being a child again.
Actually (2022) there are 291 big benches in Italy and many others in construction.

Beautiful image, Loris. Interesting that the bench is so big, one needs to step up in order to sit down. Thanks for sharing. Love the colors in this photo.

A great idea brought to fruition. Nice image of the bench and placement. These would be a welcome sight for many who enjoy exploring the outdoors.

What a cool concept and a delightful photo. Bangle was head of design at BMW for a time and produced a number of cool cars like the E46 3 Series, the Z3 and Z4 and - of course - the controversial E60 5 Series which irritated critics but delighted customers, who bought ton of 'em.
