Blue Herons at Dogtown Lake

Some blue herons. The crawfish the one was eating is the biggest I've ever seen one eating.

That crawfish is really big with large pinchers. This is a really great series of Great Blue Heron images with excellently timed shots. I like all of them. Fabulous trip for photography.

Thanks Kiddo70, it's probably my favorite. I was in the kayak and focused on the juvenile eagle. I looked back and the heron was perfectly silhouetted. One of the reasons I like getting out on the lake right at daybreak.
