Grosbeak grooving
Lens: DA 300* Camera: KP Photo Location: Seagrove, NC ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/1500s Aperture: F4

I spotted Blue Grosbeak land on the catkins (flowers) of our American Chestnut tree and got a few shots, including this one of a male about to mate with the female that landed on the catkins.

Nice companion shot. Beautiful color in the birds wings. The 1/1500 shutter speed froze the action.

Very excellent photographs!
Not only of the chestnut blooms, but especially of the birds--timing was outstanding!
