Jet funny cars, up close and personal (part 1) · **2 Likes**

I was invited to be crew photographer for a jet car team last weekend. This first batch was just their cars during the first run of the day, but I have some from the other jets that I'll be working on next. I also shot a video of their second run at night when they were going head to head.

I just posted part 2 as a separate thread for the other jets at the event (since this one was only to highlight the team hosting me).

Amazing Race series. I can imagine the sound of those engines fully fired up must have been deafening. Really great work and many thanks for posting.

Thank you, and yes those engines are insanely loud. Thank goodness for ear protection.

These two run about 250mph and around 6.4 seconds in the 1/4 mile, which is on the slower end for jet cars. They care more about the show than just how quick they run since they are an exhibition team.
