Visited By a Painted Lady
Lens: HD DA55-300 PLM and DA*300 Camera: K-3II and K-5 Photo Location: Backyard

butterfly. The first two shots were with the K-3II and 55-300 PLM, and the second two were with the K-5 and DA*300. I like to mix it up a little.

Terrific shots, Todd. Excellent detail and color in all of the shots. Both cameras and lens performed very well. That Painted Lady is a beautiful butterfly. Was there much difference in processing the images?

Thanks Mike! No, there was virtually no difference. I made a few minor lighting adjustments and cropping, and then ran them through Topaz Photo for noise reduction and sharpening. The raw files from both combos were pretty sharp. The first shot is much cooler, but I think it has something to do with the white background.

Very fine images!
Impressive lenses, both of them, Yet, that 300mm seems unbeatable--incredibly detailed.

Thanks Angky! I agree with you about the 300mm. It is a great lens. However, for these kinds of shots, the 55-300 PLM is no slouch.
