False Solomon's Seal Under A Cedar Log

The lighting on the simple forms I saw here on the forest floor, and the textures made me recall many years ago when I shot B&W.
So I tried it on the digital camera; it seems to work pretty well.
(But I feel like I'm missing something in the old darkroom processing, though!!! )

Very well thought out Floral Image. You are correct, a huge part of shooting film was the reward of observing your work come to life in the darkroom. Many thanks for sharing this jewel.

Instant returns in our world today--seems to have lost an essential part of life.
In the dark room watching and reviewing and burning and dodging and trying again--to finally come out with just the right print!
That was worth waiting a whole week just to get a couple of hours' access to the darkroom.
And one other feature of those days--the awesome Pentax film cameras!
Open the clean simple back (no buttons or gadgets or wheels on it) and thread in a 36-exposure spool of Pan-X.
Then, back home, spending a frustrating hour with my hands stuck into a dark-bag trying to thread that spool onto a developing reel!
Nothing instant about it!
Good times!

This is a very good black and white image. This one really works. In the past black and white was the only option. I have never worked in a dark room. I imagine that it can be gratifying to produce the images. I do like the way this plant shines under the cedar log.

True enough, the leaves did have a bit of sheen on them due to natural surface of the leaves.
Yet, this shining is a bit different from what I would expect from my past experiences in darkroom printing on paper.
This comes from something in the contrast capabilities of digital, I suspect.
It does look good in this image, but somewhat unusual.
There is still more for me to learn about B&W digital photography...
Thanks for your note; I appreciate the input.
Angky.

Yes, it is an interesting plant.
I learned to identify them about five decades ago, but I just learned that they are supposed to be edible--learned that when I took the picture.
Interesting things in life happen to us.
Angky.
