Dragonfly Images from the Nature Preserve plus 1
Lens: Sigma 135-400 APO Camera: Pentax KP Photo Location: Hendrix Nature Preserve ISO: 320 Shutter Speed: 1/320s Aperture: F8

Yesterday, when we visited the Nature Preserve, we noted that the dragonflies had finally returned in some numbers. I was able to get several nice shots of them. Here is a selection of images from the nature preserve and one from a walk last week. Enjoy.

Really nice collection of dragonflies. Preserve looks like a good spot.

Quite the variety of images!
You even added a damselfly.
I really like the images of the black dragonfly on the deep blue flower.

Thanks, David. The only wildlife out in our visit were dragonflies, a few butterflies, turtles, snakes and a Nutria. The dragonflies were the prime photo opportunity.

Thank you, Angky. That type of dragonfly was most numerous. It always looks good on those flowers. I did like the variety to photograph. I had no luck trying to capture an in-flight photo.

Thank you, Tony. Dragonflies come in lots of varieties and are also a favorite of mine.
