Two shots taken 24 hours apart
Posted By: Jimbo, 01-03-2009, 05:24 PM

The first shot is from yesterday and the second from today around the same time of the day! Its been snowing off and on for the past two weeks here. This snow was a little wet which made it more difficult to get around. JIM

Beautiful before and after. I really love the second one. Best snow pic I've seen this season.
I think it's worth it to keep slogging around in that wet snow!

I hope you don't mind my being a little critical. The second snow image is outstanding. I can't agree about the first image, however. The second works better because it has even light throughout and with the snow or fog in the background, a mysterious alluring quality. The first has too many dark areas that cannot be discerned and do not enhance the overall image. Personally, I like the cold gray-blue quality of the second image, but some people consider it as having a color cast. I like it just the way it is.

If I was concerned about someone being critical of one of my pictures. I would not have posted any shots. Feed back is always good. I normally would not have posted the first one, for many of the reasons you listed, but I thought it was a good comparison to 24 hours earlier to the second one. Appreciate your comments and thank you for looking. Cheers JIM

Thanks Dave I too prefer the second one. The first one was there to show how different lighting [this case snow and fog] can change a picture. Take care JIM

That is like every other day here in New England. You never know what a few hours will bring. Great snow shot.

This post demonstrates the fickle temperament of nature. Quite an impressive change in such a short amount of time.

The 2nd shot is in deed a heaven there. I mean visually.

Thanks Daz.. I have been back to this place a few times and I knew there was a shot there. Really depends on lighting though the orginal on the first shot is a lot brighter then this one. I really appreciate your kind words. JIM

The exposure on the second shot is spectacular. However, I believe the horizon is slightly tilted to the right.... or have I had too many beers?

Great shot!
