Butterflies and bees by DA55-300mm
Posted By: dsport, 01-04-2009, 05:11 PM

Although not a very good lens for insects due to the long min range, nevertheless it is a useful lens for those without a macro.
Thanks for watching.

The first and last one stand out for me though they are all well done. JIM

I agree with Jimbo that #1 & the last one are exceptional. I also like the balance and colors in #3.

Thanks for sharing.

Those are great! Indeed the 55-300 can be quite handy for butterflies--some of them are too far away for the macro lens (100mm), but since you're shooting from a good distance, it really doesn't matter that it's not a macro lens.

These are pretty good. I especially like the first four, where it is evident you paid careful attention to bokeh.

Thanks all.
I would also like to post some flowers by this lens in another topic (try to avoid too many pics in one topic).

Great series. #3, 7 & 9 are excellent. Just shows what this lens can do in the right hands.

Outstanding pics! What program did you use for the borders? I like the way you put the exif data on the bottom of the borders as it saves a step in looking for the info (which I am always interested in.)

Excellent images from a non-macro lens. All the odd numbers are my favorites! Excellent contrast and color.

Marc
