fifty at minus 10 below freezing
Posted By: Douglas_of_Sweden, 01-06-2009, 04:57 AM

Was intending to get a BW shot with a fast 50 for Danloc78's weekly contest, but had no time to process them before the deadline. So here are instead the results of an hour of freezing yesteday.

K20D+FA50/1.4+tripod in mixed street light/moon light. -10C, cold fingers and thick layers of hoar frost every where. Turned BW in lightroom.

Thanks!

That wall came out very nicely in hoarfrost and moonlight. Not so bad in color either.

I really like the stark and simple contrast of this B&W series. Excellent treatment for snow and ice.
Looks like film!

yeah, and people say brick walls are boring. I like the BW version a lot...
PS: you have terribly soft corners there, you should send the lens back (just a tongue in the cheek )

Just curious, where do you see that? Number 1 and 3 are the only ones that realy have any of the corners within the DOF.

Thanks! I suppose I'm sub consiously trying to recreat my old stile of BW dark room work. Not entirely happy though, so I have some other rolls with BW winter shots on TRI-X on the way to be processed through the film scanner.

Shit, I thought you were serious, and that I had finally got an excuse to replace the FA50/1.4 with the DA*55/1.4!
