Test of my new FA* 85 mm f/1.4 / HD FA 35 mm f/2 with the K3 III
Lens: FA*85mm/HD FA 35mm Camera: Pentax K3 III Photo Location: Quebec, CANADA ISO: 100

Today was a mild, end-of-summer sunny day and I decided to travel to the Batiscan River to test my newly arrived FA* 85 mm f/1.4. I brought along my HD FA 35 mm f/2.

In argentic times, the best "prime duo" was a 50 mm + 135 mm on full-frame, the field-of-view afforded by a 35 mm + 85 mm in the APSC format.

This camera is light so I didn't need to carry my heavy tripod. I simply leaned on the guardrail of the bridge over the river and adopted gun-shooting technique.

Both images are EXTREMELY SHARP, the 85 mm was shot @ f/8 and the 35 @ f/16.
I tried f/4, f/8 and f/16 for each lens and I posted the two images that came out the best.

You are correct of course, they are both very sharp and in my opinion, very beautiful. Just really love these captures of Nature further North. Muchas Gracias.

No arguments from me. I agree that both of those images are extremely sharp. In addition, both also have vivid rich colors. This is a wonderful scene for shooting.

THX !!

Very nice duo of primes for this particular scene. They are both über-sharp on my monitor.

Regards

Yet, 99 % of people cross this bridge over the Batiscan River without a second look ...
