Alas Eddy I don't have any. I've seen you photo before, and it always amazes me. Great capture! And how big is that thing anyway? Not sure I want to get that close to a spider that looks like it's the size of a rat!

If I recall correctly, this guy was about 2-1/2 inches long. A rather imposing specimen.

An Old One

This was shot a long time ago. All I can remember is it was an MX and probably a 50mm macro, on Kodachrome 64.

I don't think that mantis got caught in the web yet, but it's in for a fight if it does.

I have seen Praying Mantis steal from spider webs. Perhaps that is what this one was doing.


I have many spider pics, as I love to take pics of them. Here's one of them, I may throw a few more up.
*ist DS with DFA 100mm Macro and doubler, F11'ish, ISO 800, 1/2 sec., tripod and cable release.
