Male Eastern Water Dragon
Posted By: dosdan, 01-09-2009, 02:48 AM

Seen at Mt. Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, in the Japanese Garden. Mature male Eastern Water Dragons have a red chest. K20D. M50/F1.7.

F4, ISO 200, 1/180s

I got down on my guts so I could be on his level. Next two: F8, ISO 200, 1/30s

These are awesome. Love them all. Hard to beat those manual lens's. Great place to get some good shots as well.

Thank you for the encouragement, Keith.

I think it was about that time that I went ga-ga over water dragons.

The third one is excellent, good composition, the body is somewhat camouflaged and blends a little with the background which enhances the head and upper part of the body
by creating a 3D effect.

Dan,

These are sooooo cool! I love them all.

I am intrigued though, are these in an exhibit? I don't see any fencing.

Nice series - the head looks so big compared to the body.

I was sure I had posted in this thread

I thought I had gone on and on about how beautiful this Water dragon is.
Must have just been in my mind... But the say, its they thought that counts!

I love this lizard! Never seen one like it. And good shots of too...

I do have a question that I must know the answer to.

How did you center the vertical photo in the middle of the horizontal ones? I dont know that I have every seen that.

gorgeous

not something you'd necessarily want to hug, but nonetheless a great subject especially in such a 'nose in the air' pose.
