New SMC-F 70-210mm test photo
Posted By: sawtooth235, 01-09-2009, 03:09 PM

I found this lens at a camera exchange for $65.00. Here is test picture I took in my backyard.

This lens seems much sharper than my Sigma 100-300mm.

What do you think?

$65.00 for an F70-210?! You most definitely got a deal, as they generally tend to run around $200-225 for a good copy. Tack sharpness is this lens' strength and you got it with that shot.

Whoa!

Wow, you got an amazing deal. They are wroth far more. But yes a fine lens indeed, i've just bought a companion for mine - the F135/2.8, i love the solid build and warm rendering of the F lenses. They're also quite sharp.

Enjoy!

Heather,

Yeah, I almost couldn't believe it when I looked at the $130.00 price tag and then the guy said " You can have either the SMC-F 80-200mm or the SMC-F 70-210 for $65.00". He also thought that they were manual focus lenses.

LuzArt,

I think that I am going to like this lens very much. And to think, I went in to buy a SMC-M 200mm f4.0 for $85.00 I had seen a few weeks ago. It is still there, so I may go back for it next month when I am back in that city again.
