That is a really good photo Dave, as for the eco-friendliness, 20 years ago that would have been black and grey smoke.

Thanks Jim I live in Sherwood Park so I see that plant quite a bit on any drive into the city.

Thanks Heinrich - true that I did a google images search of oil refineries on the 1970's and I am old enough to remember them.

Nice catch Dave! Certainly it looks better than in 1970's or 80's, but still you start to wonder what is under the beautiful snow ...

It's snow good Dave, you're going to need to see someone about this obsession.

ahhh icic. At first I was only seeing the first half and was like wow what beautiful clouds and then I scrolled down to the refinery. So my Beauty/Beast take was the nice clouds ironically coming from the oil refinery. great shot!

Yes, I see what you mean about beauty and the beast. But the image is beautifully taken. Everything is so well balanced and exposed.

The CO2 is anyway invisible to the eye, and CO2 is the biggest problem.

Interesting that this image has a tranquill feel to me. It must be the smooth snow. I can't say I've ever seen an industrial image that gave me the same feel this one does. Maybe I am influenced by the red, white and blue?

Thanks Kurt ya know most days it is fine, when it gets really cold (-20C or lower) tghe clouds of smoke really show - on really warm days sometimes the smell can get to ya as well. And you don't want to know about all the 3 headed goffers we have
