Greeted At My Picket Gate
Lens: Vario_Sonnar T* 28-100 Camera: Sony DSC-RX100 Photo Location: My garden fence ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/30s Aperture: F6.3
Posted By: angkymac, 01-15-2024, 12:10 PM

Returning at dusk, I am greeted at my gate by the shy faerie people under their bouquets of tiny red roses.

Well, it was actually in the morning on a gray overcast day...
But the imagination helps a bit on those days!
Angky

The little RX100 is an easy camera to always have on my belt, and it does a fine job, but when I saw these roses, I was wishing I had carried the K1 and 77mm lens.
(But that huge eye would have frightened the shy little folk!)

Thank you, Julie!
Glad that it was pleasing to you.
(And I'll leave your fine regards with the little folk at my garden gate.)

You know, using our Imagination it helps always a lot in the world of photography.
Great Job Angky.

Yes, you are exactly correct!
Without imagination, how would we even think about an image in our camera?
Thanks for that note on the matter.

I like the composition of this image and the slightly brighter light in this image. The tighter framing of the roses and brighter light gives them more prominence. Beautiful shot, Angky.

Why is it always assumed that 'Imagination' is the opposite of reality ? Imagination enhances reality - just because others can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there.

'Absence of proof is never proof of absence.'

Thanks for really reading my notes along with viewing the image!

Now a question from my side:
The little folk who enhanced my reality--did they only imagine me, or did they really see me? I know that I was there in reality, even though they were invisible to me.

And now to your point-- yes, you are correct; my imagination really did enhance the photo event!
And I'm hoping it did the same for the viewers.
Thanks for the observation!
