That lighting diagram looks familiar, are you on ModelMayhem?

Thanks for the PP tutorial. I've just started using PS instead of just Lightroom, and the skin touchup is much easier and looks better with PS. I found a similar tutorial on another photographer's site, and it works quite well. It's a step above just blurring the skin, which always looks too fake.

yes I'm in MM ModelMayhem.com - Eric Fagerheim - Photographer - Trondheim,

there is a lot of way to get great result in skin editing.. the most important thing to do IMO is to create a texture map.. so you don't loose the skin texture.

Eric, you have improved continuously since you've been posting here! This is wonderful lighting, very nice work - the lighting diagram is appreciated too.

That diagram clearly demonstrates the need for certain lights to ensure her head/hear (not so much in this case with lighter hair) doesn't "disappear" into the background. Thanks for posting the PP steps - the skin looks real, and not the more fake appearance I have seen too often. Having done primarily younger subjects, no PP'ing is really needed.

Again, thank you.

Regards,
Marc

Marc,

Besides, if she got one look at this 50+ year old mug she would be heading for the hills anyway.

LOL

But, I can dream.

Yes true true.. the most important thing to learn with flash photography is to control the spill light.. the more control the more drama.
