Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island.......
Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 01-11-2009, 04:41 PM

.....deserves a few posts of its own. I started out this particular morning from Port Hastings and headed towards the Cabot trail. It started out nice enough and I did take a few side trips but by noon time the temperature had dropped to 7ºC and it was raining on and off. Here are a few pictures from that morning.

All with K10D and 16-45

That is a beautiful trail and stunningly captured scenerys! Thank you Heinrich for sharing the images.

One of the great things in this forum is just this ... to see different parts of world so well presented.

Be safe Heinrich,

Wonderful series Heinrich - as a young lad I hitch-hicked to Cape Breton for a couple of weeks bumming around so to speak - great shots.

As always, Heinrich, you have got the EYE. I love your selection of subjects and your framing of the same. I always learn something new about landscape photography each time you post.
Thank you for the kind words, glad that you liked them.

Beautiful series, Heinrich. I hear many conflicting reports on the 16-45 lens, and have wavered for sometime about it. But your shots certainly give it a pretty good boost.
Well done!
Hi Bruce and thank you. For the money I believe it is the best you can get. No doubt that there are better lenses available but they are sort of out of my reach.

Take care,

Awesome series. You really captured it well. Photos like this remind me how lucky I am to live here in Nova Scotia.
Thank you for the kind words, I am lucky enough to get to Nova Scotia most years to visit family, this was the first trip to Cape Breton.

Great series! I am amazed how you always and every time get your landscapes so nicely toned, even in cloudy (even misty) weather!
Thank you Georg, most images just get a quick touch up in PS.

Take care,
