Mike, these are superb macros thanks for posting them. I have used the Canon 250D on the 50-200 but the Raynox seems to have higher magnification.

Yes the Canon 250 is a +4 diopter whereas the Raynox 250 is a +9 diopter

I'm at loss for words. I know this might be a not-to-ask question but... how long did you spend for each of the shots? Each of these shots looks like it needs alot of patience to get the composition and focus right... and it seems like you used a bit of shutter drag as well. (I have the same combo, just with K100D)

Thanks Mark, they are one of the largest and therefore one of the easiest to photograph

Hi Mike,
I really like the REAL closeups (like shots 1 and 20). Something a little different then the usual butterfly photo. Great work!

For each shot maybe 15 sec at the most... probably 5-10 sec, sometimes i'd take 3-5 shots if i didn't get it right the first time but i'm quite well practiced at this type of photography... now this shutter drag term... what is that? if its referring to slower shutter speeds then thats just the camera choosing a slower shutter to get the flash exposure right.

Thanks vizjerei, the lighting is almost the same as outdoors however there is a lot of foliage and it seems to be diffused a bit through the windows... i never rely on the natural light for this kind of close-up, its the flash and gary fong diffuser for me
