Niagara Falls part deux
Posted By: Photochop, 03-19-2007, 08:01 PM

We walked around the Falls the day after the big snowfall. It was a beautiful day but if you stood out there long enough it got very very cold. Everything within 1000 yards was covered in snow and 2 inch think ice from the mist of the Falls. Just gorgeous. Unfortunately for me I couldn't stay around the Falls much longer because my pants got wet from leaning against the railing over the Falls, five minutes longer and I would've suffered frost bite for sure

All shot with the DA 18-55mm

The new skywheel. 175 feet high with temperature controlled gondolas. You get a really nice view of the city from up top.

An old sailboat we saw on a few feet from the highway on the way home...too bad I didn't have the fisheye.

No worries Alvin, actually I appreciate the info as I had no idea. So my first guess was that you're a taxi driver because you seem to know every place I've been to but you pointed out that I was wrong so my second guess is that you're a Tour Guide Just yanking your chain

Thanks for looking Hanamai, I appreciate your comments.

V - when I was younger and had relatives from out of town come in, my parents asked me to show them around.

For some weird reason, they thought I know some good places to go to and can entertain them well. Really, I just explore a lot - even more so when I'm with company - go with the flow.

Photochop,
excellent pictures - was that tree bending around toward the ground from the ice on it? ouch...

and certainly nothing wrong with the 18-55 - that's been my primary lens since I got my K110D

As for Niagara falls - that's was the site of my first big photo screwup: opening the back of my 35mm before I rewound the film. Idiot.

But I never did it since. (and of course, won't do that again - and I already covered the "left all my memory cards at home" gaffe too... so I should be good for a few years.

-Dan
