Our Little Angel
Posted By: GLThorne, 03-20-2007, 10:34 AM

Haven't had much luck the last few days with anything I've shot, so I started playing around with some of our personal photos of our son. Thought I'd share this one. My wife wanted it to have a soft/diffused feel to it.

Hope you enjoy.......

He is precious. Your photo captures his peacefulness. Well done. Enjoy photographing them at this age before they start moving faster than your camera can focus.

Thanks brother! Appreciated as usual!

I had it printed 11x14 on a soft luster paper and framed it in an old black wood frame. Double matted with a sage green border paper with ivory inside color. Turned out pretty cool. I added a different background to it and I'll try to remember to post that tomorrow.

Thanks again!

Thanks Erl. He ALREADY gets more out of focus shots than in focus! He's our little angle while sleeping. Guess it goes without saying what he is when he's awake! Besides WIDE-OPEN!! He's our first and the world wouldn't be enough of an offer for him. Never understood what my friends meant when they told me I would never get "it" until I had one. Now I get "it"!

Yep! We've got a large picture window in our room and he hadn't woke up from his afternoon nap yet a few days back so, grabbed the 'ol K100D and the rest, as they say, is history.

Really glad you liked it Randy.

lol - you'd really better get your practice keeping him in focus! When I picked up my Fuji 2800z it took me 3 months until I could get him. My godchildren move faster, but with the K100 it's been pretty good.

My little guy and wife are on my avatar. Love them so much and I understand the feelings you have for yours. It's great, isn't it?

That's such a sweet picture. Sleeping babies are the best to photograph.

Thanks all for the nice positive comments. His mom & I REALLY think he's beautiful!!

Alvin - yes "it" is! My wife and I've been together since our senior year, going on 18 years now with 11 of that being married. She's my world and I didn't think anything could bump her down a spot, but he sure did. Being ex-law enforcement and an avid weight lifter since my high school days, I've grown into a farily large, grizzle beared exterior - to all others! But, not these 2.

Of course YOU and MOM think he's beautiful, and I'm just here to confirm that you're right! What a precious little boy. We're all so lucky to be able to capture moments like these because before you know it he'll be asking you for the car keys and $50 to fill the tank
