Winter melancholy
Posted By: gawan, 01-16-2009, 11:20 AM

This photo came about when I tried to salvage a too dark image lacking good colour tones, ending up processing it quite heavily. I kinda like the excessive graininess my self.

Georg, the processing looks great - not heavy handed in this instance. I love shots like this one, makes me chilly just gazing at it.

Georg, my long ago ex used to shoot B&W hi contrast film and then push the contrast more, she got shots like this. Very effective. Very moody and dark.

NaCl(could be the cover of a Leonard Cohen album)H2O

ps: Leonard Cohen is a very moody/sad singer songwriter)H2O

I love it when you get images that just kind of run up to you and slap you about a bit. Very effective.

Wow, the texture is stunning.

Really melancholic for sure. I really like the way you did to the photo treatment

Thanks Joni, really appreciated! The texture was just the reason I dared to post it!

BTW, I added a link to a little bigger version, which shows some what better the texture...
