Fog along the lake
Posted By: Tuner571, 01-17-2009, 12:28 PM

Hey guys,

Here is some photos I took last weekend when we had a nice fog roll in. All of the shots were taken with the Pentax A 50mm f/1.7 at various apertures.

Any comments and suggestions would be great.

Thanks, Cory

Cory, of the three I reallu like #1. Well done on a tough shot and the B&W does work well in this case. Cheers JIM

Thanks for the comment Jimbo, I think this was the first day that I actually went out to shoot B&W photos.

Nice tones, and beautiful scene! I was going to suggest more contrast, but the more I look at it, the more I think it must stay as it is. The middle one is most interesting to me.

This is what we used to call 'working the subject', or 'working the scene. ' Different perspective on the same subject. Very well done. NOtice how the close you got to elements, the clearer the subject. Like them all, but I have to concur, the first has an overall ethereal quality that is very strong.

I like them all, but find the 2nd shot to have the most mood and punch--nice. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it. I would also agree that the second one is me favorite out of the three.

Since no one has voted for #3 yet I'll cast my vote. The reason I like #3 best is because my eye seems to be drawn to the fallen tree in all the photos. In photo 1 its just a bit too small. In #2 it takes up too much of the frame for my taste. so I like #3 best. actually, I wish you had a shot between #2 and #3. that would have been super.

Beautifully done. B & W conversion is spot on. Particularly like #2
