Monster Mile (Dover, DE)
Posted By: Eastern Shore Charlie, 01-18-2009, 04:00 PM

You will not see me any where near this place during race day, but I kept seeing this guy from a highway near by. I thought I would try to find him yesterday am and take some shots of him. Really bright outside but no one bothered me and had time to play and get some decent shots. First time the sun has shined in a couple of weekends. Used DA*16-50 and Tamron 70-200 LD for these shots. Really happy and confidant with this combo.

Good job Charlie. I like the compositions you chose. How nice to have mother nature give you that beautiful blue sky as a backdrop!

Can't add much, excellent series showing different facets of scene. Especially like the last the shot.

I really like the progression of the shots. Only thought I have for improvement is a little shadow removal (pp) on the last shot.

Great shots Charlie. The only advice I have is you might want to use the Red-eye reduction next time--

In all the years watching NASCAR...

Hi Charlie!

As many years as photo_dad has subjected me to watching NASCAR races, I have never seen this place. Thanks for some enlightenment! Now he tells me there is a trophy like this, too? 'Well, dear, if you want me to be interested in your sport, a little extra info is always helpful'

I like the last shot the best - gives a very good idea of the size.

That is one big statue. Its good when you get settled on a lens combo that really works for you. Can't say I'm there yet.

Would love to see some shots from inside the place.

Go Marcos Ambrose.

Cheers
