Woman at pump

Got this shot over six months ago and never really looked at it until today. Converted to B&W using PS Elements 7.

Quite good. Works so well in BW. The character of the woman echoes the character of the place and the whole scene comes alive.

By the way, I have Elements 6, would it worth upgrading to 7

I really like this one, definitely has a lot of character. I'm interested in JMR's question myself, as I have PS5. I may pick it up when I see it on sale for no other reason than the dark gray background/windows colors, looks so much better than the light gray in PS5.

Thanks for the comments.

I have PS Elements 6 and was able to try out PSE 7 as a free 30 day trial from Adobe. To be honest, I haven't used PSE 7 enough to tell the difference with PSE 6. If you are thinking of upgrading, download the free trial and give it a try. Personally, I am pretty happy with PSE 6 and will not upgrade.

Wonderful shot

Really a great feeling from this shot. Has a timeless old film feel to it. How did you get that almost film grain look?

Another thank you.

How did I get that film grain look? This shot was underexposed when originally shot. I didn't mean for it to be underexposed and I don't know why it was underexposed, but it was. That is the reason I didn't look at this shot before. Anyway, when I lightened the image using levels, I notice there was a lot of noise. Conversion to black and white yielded the film like image.
