BW photo of tourists watching tourists from hotel
Posted By: sealonsf, 01-23-2009, 01:53 PM

I took this photo in San Francisco last weekend. I liked the way the man is standing. This was a night shot, hand held and I was moving fast because I don't like people seeing me take photos - but I think it came out okay.

Pentax K2000, DA 40mm

And one more tree photo - near Mt. Diablo, Northern California.

I'd consider cropping it a bit to get the sky out of the left.

But a nice shot.

I prefer the tilt in the 2nd pic. The first one makes me feel a little like a peeping Tom

Dang, Jeff, I was going to say the same thing.

Really, this is a super cool shot - one can dream up many scenarios: "There are a Million Stories in the Naked City, This is Just One of Them".

Seriously, sealonsf, this is a really cool shot.

I went round and round with myself about cropping closer or not but eventually decided to leave a little of the building side in. I think it adds a little interest and puts the picture in better perspective, but I should try it both ways and have a good look. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah - that's why I aimed fast and walked the other direction. As if they could get down from all those floors in time to nab me! But like I said, they were tourists, watching tourists, so I figured it was a fair shot to take. (Makes me think about when I used to work across from a high-rise hotel - it's amazing how many people look out windows in the *all-together* as they say - now that, I would not take a photo of!)
