Some flowers by TOKINA AT-X 90MM F2.5 Macro
Posted By: dsport, 01-24-2009, 09:58 PM

Recently, I sold my Tamron 90mm f2.5 Macro (52BB) to my friend and got this Tokina AT-X 90MM f2.5 macro.
My impression is this lens is also suffered from Tokina's bad characters, pal in color and low in contrast. For me, it is really hard to say whelther Tamron or Tokina is better for Pentax; although I think that Tokina is a little bit sharper but sharper is not everything.
I think both lens are good but comparison of pics results would be decided by the man behind, not by the lens itself.
The weather for taking these shots was windy, cloudy and cold. My hand was a little freezing and shaking, so may be it was really too early for me to put the above comments.
Thanks for watching.

The lens is one thing lighting with these type of shots is everything. There are many outstanding images in this series. I use the Tamron 90 and it does everything I need, though if I had to choose again I may have re-thought the Tamron. Marco could be some of the most difficlu shots to get just right as the flower takes up so much of the image. Still, well done IMO. JIM

Sorry, there's way too many shots there for me to look at. My attention span maxes out at about five pictures.
Three to five is a good amount to post at any one time.

Hi dsport,
Interesting series of shots, none are what anyone could call bad, but gee...the first one has something special about it.

Cheers

Great series! beautifully composed and excellent colours! It seems to me that your skills greatly overrides any subtle differences between those lenses!
