PentaxTurkey Visit to asylum for the aged and asylum for the children
Posted By: AlexanderMayorov, 01-26-2009, 05:29 AM

Hello Pentaxians....
Almost 1.5 month ago I wrote that we(PentaxTurkey.Com users) plan to pay visit to asylum for the aged and children. Yesterday was the day of our visit.
We tried to raise funds (money) by giving 10$/ visitor. In Turkey, Pentax is not that popular like in US or Canada. We have around 250 users; 50-60 of them are active. Total money we got is about 200$. We bought books, pencils, clue, colored paper, puzzles, balloons, some yogurt, gums, etc. So we were 17, or 6 families (Man is a Pentaxian and wife is supporter) and some singles. We received some money from other Pentaxians who live outside of the Istanbul. It was rainy day; we went there, so many emotions and happiness. After visit to children we went to asylum for the aged and we had unforgettable chats with old men.
I took some photos, but they are still in my camera. Some of our users posted them, and I as admin of PT, want to share them with you. It was our first trial but not the Last….

During that days I’m sure you can do the same, at least try to do something good for others.

I'll some more later....

Thanks a lot...
In my opinion 10$ is nothing compared to equipment we have. ALso there is no garantee that we wont be there after couple of decades

As always some great shots. Love the 3rd one. Great that you raised some funds for them. A worthy effort.

I used to belong a camera club where they did outreach programs. They would go to seniors residences and do shows for them. So excellent work Fragla!

Thank you all so much. As much for the inspiration as for the photos. Will be looking more into doing these types of shots.
