Photo from new lens F 70-210
Posted By: mingdie, 10-21-2006, 07:55 PM

Just as I was about to buy a DA 50-200, this lens turned up. Unused according to the owner and it looks spotless with absolutely clear glass. I am happy with the price US$ 100.00. Of course the weather had to be awful the next they but I took a few shoots.

New lens.

Local yacht race. Taken at quite a distance at 210mm handheld.

Cheers

Thank you for your reply.
I will post more photos as soon as this bad weather we have had since I bought the lens settles. I am itching to go out and take some photos.

Cheers

Thanks guys.
Min-max aperatures is 4-5,6. Since I got the lens I have used it alot and I am impressed with the colours and sharpness. The bokeh is not bad either.
Another sample.

Really nice shots Eddie,
What can I say about that lens that hasn't already been said from the colors to sharpness to Bokeh It seems to really shine.

Good Shooting.

I just bought a used Takumar F 70-210mm f4-5.6 for 15$ , it looks almost the same as the Pentax F 70-210mm...
I guess the Takumar is an older version of the Pentax lens, but does anyone know how good it is? Does it also have the SMC Coating?

I have never used either lens but several forums I frequent say that the Takumar version does not have the SMC coatings. Never the less, it is touted as being more than decent. For 15 bucks you can't go wrong!

Hi!

In my collection of lenses for Pentax there is such lens (70-210mm). I use it only for "portraits" (its "sharpness" for this purpose enough) and in most cases for photographing on is black - a white film. The focal length of this lens is closer to work from small distance (for example - photographing of a podium). But technical parameters (f 4-5,6) and " a design of management " are inconvenient (and by AF) for the majority of kinds of photographings.

The best regards!
