Massage therapy photos
Posted By: hamidlmt, 01-27-2009, 05:17 PM

My last batch of photos I'm taking to update my massage therapy website. I used a Pentax K20D and FA 31mm 1.8 Limited lens. The main light was an AF-540 flash behind a shoot-thru umbrella wirelessly triggered via SM Flashwaves. I used the little Pentax infrared remote control with a 3 second delay to trip the shutter. Yup... that's my ugly mug in the shots.

And, a quick portrait of the my massage model, Jessica...

Thanks! We'll probably do a real portrait or fashion session some time soon.

I thought of Photoshopping Brad Pitt in my place, but then my clients would be so disappointed when they met me!

Great shots. Based on your comments about your "mug", I guess it isn't surprising that the focus is on the model

I found it rather challenging to focus on myself when I wasn't yet in frame!

ya as hard as it would be to get that to happen, I think focussing on you would mcuh better represent what you are trying to sell.

Not that I mind looking at a beautiful woman :

What's with the 'ugly mug' stuff? I'd call it the balanced approach. Surely highly necessary in your line of work.

Bonnie & Clyde, Sugar and Spice, Ying and Yang...

...Beauty and the Beast ...

Need I say more?

Nice shots, should add a lot to your website.

Your model is a dead ringer for the actress Madeleine Stowe. Especially the shape of her eyes.

My work is always focused on the client... in essence, selling an experience. Perhaps this is difficult to understand for someone who is not in the healing arts. In the first image, I actually wanted my hands in focus.. think I achieved that. Appreciate your thoughts....

I think you did a good job! I would maybe try an aerial shot if at all possible? not quite sure how you'd do it though.

Nice shots again, the colour mood really suits well to the atmosphere of the massage, imo!

I understand that, but you're selling your skill at healing more then the person you're healing...well the way i thought of it anyway. Great shots none the less
